This short game is not fun (yes the game is one screen), I learned a lot though and am content with what I made.

Controls:

WASD and arrow keysJumping orthogonally
SpaceAttempt to swallow any fly in the last direction moved
KKill all swallowed fireflies
JRelease all swallowed fireflies
RReset the stage

How the game works:

  • The foxes only move when you do or when you attempt to swallow while you have fireflies in your mouth.
  • You the frog move 1 square at a time while the foxes more 3 squares at a time.
  • Your tongue has a range of 5 squares counting from the square you are on.
  • Foxes won't walk into the water unless there is no light source near it.
  • Reach the right side of the screen to finish the stage... there isn't really some awesome splash screen waiting for you only a black box::P me is lazy.

Known issues:

  • No sounds, Yeah lol I was too lazy to make any music or sfx (I also suck at these two aspects should probably make them a main focus at some point).
  • Web version animations are weird... Yeah web shenanigans but the animations are separate from the actual movement so your movement should still be fine.
  • Web version is less performance (again web shenanigans)
  • The game is not fun!  AGREED

Sad to see the game no finished correctly because I do feel like we could have a nice movement based puzzle in this one. Hope you learned a lot during the development, and feel free to come back to the project to learn how to finish games.

For music+sfx never feel bad about finding free packs online to use (just give credit, where needed)
